New Members

New members are invited to join more than 250 engineers across South Dakota and a nationwide network of over 35,000 respected professionals.

Your application and dues include membership in:

  • NSPE

  • SDES

  • One of three local chapters, based on your location in the state

Current Members

  • Full Members (NSPE/SDES/Chapter):
    Renew your membership by logging into the NSPE website.

  • State Only Members (SDES/Chapter):
    Members are encouraged to upgrade to Full Membership to gain access to additional NSPE benefits.

    Members who held State Only membership prior to July 1, 2018, and whose membership has not lapsed, may renew:

    • Online through this website after logging in, or

    • By mailing renewal materials to SDES

  • Affiliate Members:
    Renew your membership through the Membership Renewal page after logging in.

Recent Graduates

SDES/NSPE offers discounted membership for recent graduates of ABET-accredited engineering programs.

Eligible recent graduates may receive up to 80% off full dues, based on year of graduation:

  • Year 1: 20% of full dues

  • Year 2: 40% of full dues

  • Year 3: 60% of full dues

  • Year 4: 80% of full dues

  • Year 5: 100% of full dues

Student Membership

Engineering students qualify for a FREE SDES/NSPE student membership if they are:

  • Enrolled full-time in an ABET-accredited engineering program

  • Enrolled in an engineering or pre-engineering program with a transfer agreement to an ABET-accredited program

  • Enrolled full-time in a graduate-level engineering program
