The Society brings together engineers working in private firms, public agencies, industry, and academia. Through regional chapters across the state, members engage at both the local and statewide levels — building professional connections, sharing knowledge, and strengthening the engineering community in South Dakota.
Supporting future engineers is a core priority of the South Dakota Engineering Society. Through scholarships, student programs, and educational outreach, the Society encourages students to explore engineering careers and supports them as they pursue professional licensure.
At its core, the South Dakota Engineering Society is committed to protecting the public interest. By promoting licensed, ethical engineering practice and ongoing professional development, the Society helps ensure that South Dakota’s infrastructure and systems are designed and maintained safely, responsibly, and sustainably.
