Principal Engineer

JOB SUMMARY  

Are you passionate about improving transportation systems and enhancing road safety? The City of Sioux Falls is seeking a skilled Principal Traffic Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will help design and implement effective traffic control plans, analyze traffic patterns, and collaborate with urban planners to tackle congestion and safety issues. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering and four (4) years’ practical experience in related civil engineering work including work associated with the management and supervision of construction project work; or any such combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.

Must be registered or have the ability to obtain registration within six (6) months of hire, as a professional engineer or architect in the state of South Dakota and/or registered land surveyor in the state of South Dakota.

Possession of a valid driver’s license is desirable.

Civil Engineer (Highway) - Direct Hire

The employee has the authority to commit the agency to actions on behalf of the Division Office represented in line with delegations of authority.

Project Design Engineer

Sayre Associates, Inc., a private civil engineering firm in Sioux Falls, SD, is seeking a Project Design Engineer to join our experienced team. Applicants must have a BS degree in Civil Engineering with preferred four years design experience. A working knowledge of Civil 3D or MicroStation is beneficial. Salary is dependent on experience. A hiring bonus is available based upon experience!

Responsibilities:

• Create, design and manage small-scale to large-scale construction projects
• Provide advice and resolve any project related questions
• Interact with clients as projects develop
• Ensure design complies with local and state design guidelines

Skills:

• Proven working experience in civil engineering
• A working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar
• Proficiency in site development and street construction/reconstruction
• Project management and supervision skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Licensure - professional engineer
• BS in Civil Engineering
